Conventional sponge tape and PU sponge tape
The conventional sponge tape for automobile wire harnesses is made of high-density flame-retardant sponge as the base material and coated with special pressure-sensitive adhesive after technical treatment, to achieve the effect of shock absorption and noise reduction.
The base material of polyurethane (PU) sponge tape is polyether polyol and binary and ternary organic isocyanate, and the adhesive is polyacrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive, with a thickness of 2-5mm. Polyacrylate has strong adhesion and can also adapt to humid environments, high temperatures or heating conditions.

What is the foam tape used for?
Ordinary PVC tape (high temperature resistant 85 ~ 105 ℃) can be used to bind or fix the harness to meet the requirements. In some special cases, sponge tape needs to be used:
1. When the harness is in direct contact with hard materials, but the harness cannot be completely fixed locally, sponge tape shall be used locally for cushioning, shock absorption, sound absorption and noise reduction.
2. If the harness plug-in (sheath) cannot be completely fixed during loading, sponge tape can be used outside the socket sheath for noise reduction.
