Exploring Automotive Electrical Terminals and Coding Rules

Aug-11-2023

Wiring Harness Crimping Terminals are very important electrical components in automotive wiring harness. This article mainly introduces two key parameters of terminals and our terminal coding rules, hoping to help you find the automobile terminals you need faster.

1. Classification of Terminals

Generally, terminals are classified into the following two types according to the type of connector housing that the terminals are suitable:

✔   Male Terminal: generally the terminal matched by the male connector , also called Plug Terminals, Tab Terminals.

✔   Female Terminal: generally the terminal matched by the female connector, also called Socket terminals ,Receptacle terminals.

2. Terminals Size

That is, the Tab terminal width of the when the male and female terminals match.

●  3.4 Design Serial Number

When there are several terminals whose specification are same, upgrade this number to distinguish the different types of terminals.

●  3.5 Deformation Code

Under the condition that the main electrical parameters are same, different types of electric terminals shall be distinguished by uppercase letters letters.

●  3.6 Specification Code

The specification Code is expressed by the Male Terminal width (mm) (shown as the terminal size in the above table).
